First of
all, we are totally sorry about not to
post in such a long time. Actually this
blog is our responsible for filling it in every week, but we are also too busy dealing
with our others project. Please forgive us okay!
A few
days ago, our IPE class discussed about the structuralism which me, Diani and
Novi tried to present in front of class. So, do you know really about
Structuralism? If you do not know et. I’ll try to explain a lil bit okay!!...
Structuralism
is a paradigm which adapted from Marxism. But of cuz, there is a different. The
different between structralism and marxism is the structure of the class. As we
know that’s Marxism has a statement that the economic and social system should
not in classified, and believe on justice and equality. Just the same with Marxism,
structuralism also believe on justice and equality. But the difference is
structuralism still believe on classes structure. Structuralism is
a thought that critisize the Marxism thought. For a shorten understanding,
Structuralism is a branch of Marxism
which had already been enhanced. On the next part of the chapters, it explained
about the contribution that Marx had given to Structuralism to make it more
perfect. First is the definition of class. Marxism believed that our world
consists of two main classes especially in the economy sector. On Marxism
preseption, there are 2 classes called bourgeoisie and proletariat. Bourgeoisie
is the class who has all the capital (goods, equipment, and modals) for
controlling and processing the economy system. And the ploteriat is the one who
works for the bourgeoisie for getting the tax and pays. Second is class
conflicts and the exploitation of worker. Marx also believed that the devided
classes on our social system could trigger a future conflict in the future, and
also it could create a discrimination in the social life. The third is
Capitalists controls over the state. On Marxism thought, Capitalist is the one
who take the control of the system in one state which government has limit
action beyond it. And the last is ideological manipulation, on the Marxism
belief, capitalism has fooled and also manipulated the workers that workers
will get benefits with capitalist. That at
the end, the workers will be always exploit and also discriminated. Marx
stated that the Liberalism were wrong seeing the freedom on the
capitalism.
Besides
Marxism thought that has influenced Structuralism, but also the writers also get
enclose about Lenin theory about international capitalism which also influenced
the structuralism thought. Lenin was a Russia revolution in 1917 and the
founding of Soviet Union who adopted the thought of Marx. He also had a view on
imperialism based on Marx’s theory. Lenin stated that Capitalist has expanded and also widen up
into all the economy system around the world. He
said that capitalism is just an unfair and also unbalanced system.
On his mind, capitalism had the .power to led the
monopolies that focused on capital. Based on Lenin, imperialism also signified
the monopoly phase of capitalism. On Structuralism, there are 3 main theories.
There are Dependence theory, Modern World Theory and Neo imperialism. Dependence
theory is a theory that devides the world into two main classes, the nations divided into
two parts: core and peripheral countries. Global political economy this day
only put through peripheral countries (less developed countries in South)
dependent to core countries (capitalist countries in North). The Modern World Theory, is a theory that
devide the world into 3 parts. Which they believed there is a country which is
not the core and also not the country which provided the sources such as
Singapore. And neo imperialism is a system which a main country or core country
could imperialized a small country by the economic sectors. By the conclusion,
Structuralism is a perspective which look the world could be on justice by the
class system. And there are three theories that maybe structuralism could
happen to our world.
